IF IT’S NOT OVERSIZED, IS IT STILL FASHION?
I was watching one of Asake’s music videos the other day. You know how it goes, baggy jeans almost sweeping the floor, a jacket three sizes up, grills shining like he just walked out of a diamond factory, and those Asake moves that make you want to go and wear boots in 33-degree heat. And just like that, I opened Instagram. Every guy suddenly looked like they shopped from the same closet. Baggy trousers, big shirts, tiny shades. Even the captions changed. “Vibe.” “Steeze.” “Soft but mad.” And I get it. It looks cool. Effortless. The kind of cool that says, “I just threw this on” even though you know it took one hour and four mirror selfies to get it right. But here’s the thing when did baggy become the only way to be fashionable? Like everyone woke up one day and decided “fitted clothes? Ew. We oversized now”. Now it’s oversized blazers to church, oversized jeans to the beach, oversized tees styled as dresses to your cousin's baby naming ceremony. You’re sweatin...
